You signed up for Chasing the Sun…or you’re thinking about it. Either way, you’re in the right place.

I’m Brittany Olson—trail runner, trail running coach, and the official training partner for 4 Peaks Racing's Chasing the Sun. I work with everyday runners balancing real life—jobs, families, full schedules—and still showing up to do hard things out on the trail. 

What is Chasing the Sun? 

First of all, I'm stoked about this race. I've been getting to help from the beginning so I'm bringing in all the trail running vibes.

You’ve got three options and all of them run the same 6k loop at McDowell Mountain Regional Park:

  • 3 hours (solo or duo)

  • 6 hours (solo, duo or trio)

  • or the full Chasing the Sun experience…running from dusk to dawn (solo, duo, trio or quad)

​

Whether you're running the 3 hour or chasing the sun, it's the place to be on January 30, 2026.

You can set up your crew tent or use the community crew space. It's your people, your setup, your snacks, your chaos. You can go solo and see what you’re made of, or you can team up and make a day of it with friends.

​

No matter what you pick, the vibe is the same across all of it: you’re out there stacking laps and seeing what you’ve got in you.

​

You’ve got trail vibes, people hanging out all day, camping, crew support, a food truck…it’s a full experience, not just a start line and a finish line.

How I Fit Into This

I’m the official training partner aka official trail running coach for Chasing the Sun which means I’m here to make sure you don’t just show up and hope for the best…you actually feel prepared and ready to handle whatever this race throws at you (and it will throw things at you...especially sharp, pointy things).

And looped, timed races like this? They’ll expose everything—pacing, fueling, mindset—real quick.

And when you get those right, this race becomes a completely different experience.

You’ve got two ways to go about it depending on you.

One-to-one coaching

If you want someone in your corner helping you actually figure this out and sees you as a whole ass human...this is it.

We’re not just checking boxes. We’re dialing in: effort, fueling, hydration, your brain...the entire race strategy with unlimited access to me. I build your entire program based on you and your life.

This is for you if you want to show up knowing exactly what you’re doing, why you're doing it AND need that coaching accountability.

Training plans

If you’re more of a “just tell me what to do and I’ll go do it” kind of person…this is for you. These are straightforward plans built specifically for Chasing the Sun so you’re not guessing your way through training or race day.

 

No matter what time you register for, you’ll get:

  • up-front programming for the race

  • suggested strength training days

  • emails to help you stay on point with your fueling and hydration and keep you moving even when challenges come up

  • Options for a kickoff call and pre-race consult
